Buffalo Mass Mob is excited to announce our next Mass Mob. It will take place on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Lackawanna’s Our Lady of Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church for 11:30 A.M. mass.
The parish was established in 1917 after the local Croatian community petitioned the Bishop of the Buffalo Diocese, Denis Dougherty, the previous year. The community wanted a Croatian church.
The original church for the parish was dedicated on May 20, 1917. The original name of the parish was Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the church was located at 108 Ridge Rd. in Lackawanna. The name of the parish changed in 1976 when the parish built a new church on Abbott Rd. Our Lady of Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church continues to serve the WNY Croatian community.
