The Buffalo Mass Mob is coming to Holy Cross Church on Sunday, March 13, 2016 for 10:00 a.m. Mass. This marks the fifteenth time the local group is staging one its Mass Mobs to raise awareness of historic houses of worship in the city of Buffalo.
The Holy Cross parish community is located on Buffalo’s West Side. It was established in 1914 by the Buffalo Diocese to serve a growing Italian immigrant community. Today, Holy Cross continues to serve the Italian-American community, but also people with roots in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Central and South America, Asia and Africa. Father Quilin Bouzi, O.M.I., is pastor.
Buffalo Mass Mob was established in 2013. The effort has drawn thousands of people to historic city churches and raised over a one hundred thousand dollars for these houses of worship. The Mass Mob movement, started in Buffalo, has been duplicated by over twenty cities across the United States. It has garnered national and international press.
