On Friday of Buffalo Mass Mob week, the nervous excitement starts to really set in for Sunday. Our organizing group worries that everything is in place and set, that the weather will be okay, that people won’t show up, etc. But you know what, it’s a great type of worry because they know everything will work out just like it has for all of the previous Buffalo Mass Mobs.
Saint Luke’s Mission of Mercy has been on our radar screen to hold a Buffalo Mass Mob at every since we started. We are excited about Sunday!
Here are some last minute details and reminders about Sunday:
- The Mass starts promptly at 1:00 P.M.
- After Mass, there will be tours of the former church school which is now part of the mission. This will be a great way to get a better understanding of all the work Saint Luke’s does.
- Light refreshments will be served in mission’s cafeteria in school building
- Saint Luke’s Mission of Mercy address is 325 Walden. The church is located at Sycamore Street and Oberlin Avenue. Click here for directions—>
- Parking…there is a small lot behind the church and ample street parking along Sycamore Street and side streets near the mission. People from the mission will be outside and available to assist with parking.
- You can enter the church from Sycamore Street or from side door entrance accessible from parking lot.
- Father Robert Moreno from St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church will be the Mass celebrant.
- Saint Luke’s Mission of Mercy will have a number of different things for purchase including various rosaries from around the world.
- ****IMPORTANT**** The mass mob group is asking people coming to bring items to help bolster the mission’s Code Blue program. The mission serves as one of the emergency warming sites in the city for people who need a place to stay when the weather gets below freezing. Items that people are being asked to bring for donation are: winter jackets, hats, gloves, socks, boots, blankets, and other items you might need if you were out in the cold.
- This is Buffalo Mass Mob’s fourteenth Mass Mob. You can read about our previous mobs by clicking here—>
