Since its founding in 2013, the Buffalo Mass Mob group has passionately worked to emphasize the importance of churches and sacred sites in our Western New York communities. One of the group’s founders, Christopher Byrd poignantly notes, “When a church closes, a community loses part of its identity. It is our hope to raise awareness about these sacred spaces and the invaluable connections they create between people, history, and culture.
